B. Vincent Crist – CEO
B. Vincent Crist is a world-renowned expert on XPS and surface chemical analysis. He is a founder and the Chief Executive Officer of The XPS Library, the world’s largest privately-held vendor of reliable Monochromatic XPS Spectra and software support solutions.
Vince began his career in XPS and surface chemical analysis when his post-doc friends joined a nearby contract analysis laboratory using XPS to solve problems for the Silicon Valley in 1986. Vince’s specialized education in inorganic and organic chemistry and his love of analytical instruments helped him to assist his customers to analyze and solve their problems using XPS. After successfully building a collection of reference XPS spectra on polymers, Vince’s curiosity and passion for XPS and surface chemistry drove him to move to Tokyo to have an XPS instrument at his command to start building a vast collection of Monochromatic XPS Spectra when he was not demonstrating the XPS instrument to prospective customers in Japan. This unique and extensive collection of Monochromatic XPS Spectra from commonplace chemicals database continues to grow and now includes commonplace industrial goods. Today the database is one of the most comprehensive and complete collections of XPS spectra, used in academia, industry, contract analysis labs, government labs and research institutes around the world.
Further pursuing his passion for providing high quality reference XPS spectra, in 2019 Vince started gathering a team of like-minded enthusiast researchers to create The XPS Library, which is recognized as the most reliable collection of Monochromatic XPS Spectra in the world.
Wishing to combine their successful track record of producing high quality reference spectra with their entrepreneurial vision, Vince and his colleagues decided to establish their own independent company. In 2019 The XPS Library was founded, with Vince heading the company’s continuing collection of Monochromatic XPS Spectra and research on surface chemistry.
Today The XPS Library is the fastest growing supplier of reference grade monochromatic XPS spectra worldwide, operating in almost 200 countries and territories worldwide.
TXL’s globally renowned team of experts has investigated some of the most complex surface chemical problems while working at various companies.. The company cooperates extensively with all manufacturers of XPS instrument.
Vince has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Nevada, in Reno, and has Post-doctoral experience at Stanford University in California. He regularly gives both lectures on XPS at universities around the globe, and keynotes at leading conferences and industry events.
Vince is both a passionate traveler and dedicated devotee of wild nature and mineral collecting. Vince remains connected to his love of the countryside life where he grew in his home state of Ohio.
