Monochromatic XPS Instruments used to collect all XPS Spectra in The XPS Library

  1. Surface Science Instruments (SSI) S-Probe (1986-1996)

  2. Thermo Scientific Theta-Probe (2001-2004)

  3. Ulvac-PHI 5802 (2005-2007)

  4. Thermo Scientific K-alpha Plus (2009-2020)

UNIQUE SELF-CONSISTENT COLLECTION OF >70,000 MONOCHROMATIC XPS SPECTRA

All spectra were collected by the same XPS scientist, B. Vincent Crist using same data collection protocols, same calibration schemes, and same sample preparation methods.  Because all spectra were collected by the same XPS scientist, the entire collection of monochromatic XPS spectra (>80,000) are a unique “self-consistent” collection of reliable spectra.

Data-File Formats of all XPS Spectra

ASCII File Format:   *.MRS   converted into  *.SDP

Source #2:  Thermo Scientific Theta-Probe (2001-2004)

Binary File Format:   *.VGD  being converted into *.SDP

Source #3:  Ulvac-PHI 5802 (2005-2007)

Next Phase for all Binary File Formats

Convert all Binary File Formats into *.SDP binary file formats and then export all into *.TXT, *.VMS, *.ISO file formats which are ASCII (text) file formats.
