Noisy Data – Ni metal – ion etched
This piece of Nickel (Ni) foil was ion etched and then left in the analysis chamber for 3 days. This was a simple test of how much Nickel would collect Oxygen from the gases in the vacuum chamber. The amount of Oxygen was ~5 atom% which is roughly 5 angstroms in thickness. The question is: Can we see any peaks on top of the Ni (2p3) signal that might be due to NiO, Ni(OH)2, or something else. | ||
