Tesla Coil Irradiation Effects Our Tesla Coil (~$250) excites the surface of insulators and conductors, and Oxidizes the surface of conductors or insulators in routine lab air.  The metal point is Zinc-plated and deposits low levels of Zinc on the surface.  We replaced the metal point with a Carbon Rod.
